Pharrell Excites Donation Strategy with #readHAPPY

Per affiliate TheJVcoolFiles:

If you've been living under a rock this past month: one-half Neptunes conductor Pharrell Williams has partnered with massive nonprofit literary unit Penguin Young Readers to donate up to 50,000 books to children residing in low-income areas. Upon disclosing further information, Pharrell shared that the donations develop when an interactive social media user posts #readHAPPY on his/her respective timeline, which in turn will result in an instant donation.

This news comes after a recent controversial event in South Africa, where Pharrell was protested by less than 1,000 pro-Palestinian demonstrators who were offended by the "Let's Get Blown" superstar's separate partnership with an Israeli-importing retail unit. Nevertheless, Pharrell is steering away from any negativity, as he continues to maintain strong vocal work with his #Happy campaign, in optimistic wish of enriching the underprivileged with positive vibes.

Rock pioneer unit Pearl Jam have not only landed press time with their incredible music, but also along with their philanthropic causes in bettering the world. To many, it comes as no shocker that this hit-making group managed to mesh their two signature elements into something special. Branded as their "minimalist recording" yet, Pearl Jam commercially released cover recording "Last Kiss" in summer of 1999. Proceeds garnered from the record would go on to be utilized as aid towards victims of the Kosovo War:

#ThrowbackThursday (07/30)

Alicia Keys is today's #ThrowbackThursday pick for the week. Her donative record "Don't Give Up (Africa)," featuring super-humanitarian and U2 frontman Bono, was released a decade ago, and would go on to impact various nonprofit foundations, including Keys' own "Keep a Child," an initiative that works to heal the AIDS-stricken lives of African children:
